Swimming Pool Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Position Summary: Directs, at a high level, the daily operation and maintenance of the Club’s outdoor Pool and outdoor sports facilities Responsible to hire, train, supervise, evaluate and coach certified lifeguard/swim instructors, reception attendants and supervisors – maintaining appropriate staffing levels at all times. Ensure, at all times, proper water chemistry, filtration and mechanical systems. Ensures a very safe, clean and well-maintained environment for staff and members. Enthusiastically develops, collaborates and implements educational, recreational and competitive (fun) programs for the Club’s members. Additional duties, included in ‘Essential Responsibilities’ below and as assigned by the General Manager
Must hold a current Lifeguard Certification, CPR/First Aid/AED
Develop and maintain schedules of lifeguards.
Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the aquatic staff.
Will be a contact person for lifeguard team.
Work with General Manager and TGC Athletic Center Director to hire, train and supervise aquatics staff.
Maintain chemical balance of the pool daily and maintain organized logs.
Must promote safety among the aquatics department assuring equipment and facility is maintained and staff is assigned.
Must be alert to dangerous conditions to assure the safety of all participants.
Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members.
Physically capable to use both legs and arms to appropriately use aquatic equipment to rescue a swimmer.
Physically able to see, hear and project voice.
Able to move to various locations, including in and around the swimming pool and sit in an elevated guard station.
Ability to handle demanding individuals.
Remain physically capable to demonstrate skills.
Teach aquatic team and maintain consistency and professionalism
Exceptional Communication Skills Required
Will assist in marketing of all aquatic programs. Attendance at TGC Athletic Center staff meetings required.
All records and incident reports will be kept current and turned into the General Manager.
Must successfully complete and maintain City of Amarillo "Certified Pool Technician" Course
Must work a variety of schedules including evenings and weekends.
Ability to Coach Swim Team and give lessons, teach water aerobics and develop programs.
2+ years management experience required.
